2D DESIGN 1-2 is a foundation level course introducing fundamental technical, conceptual, and behavioral skills in visual art for students of all abilities. A wide range of 2D media and techniques, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and mixed-media will be explored through hands-on units of study based in art history and aesthetics. Students will learn problem-solving strategies in concept development, compositional structure, project management, and execution of work. Integral to this is a sketchbook that records design problems, research, idea generation, journaling, and reflective thinking.
